Babbitt Bearing Repair
Babbitt bearings are commonly found in compressors, turbines, pumps, generators, electric motors, and other industrial rotating equipment. The bearings are designed to support the weight of the shaft and to maintain its axial position. Components are machined to specific tolerances that allow the shaft to float on a thin layer of oil in between the bearings. This prevents metal-to-metal damage to the high-speed rotating shaft and the bearing.
Babbitt bearing repair is more than just replacing babbitt. We inspect and recondition the bearing, insulate when needed, clean all water jackets, re-machine the oil grooves, and repair the bearing housing to your specifications.
At Cleveland Rebabbitting Service, we apply a metal alloy coating that goes on the base metal to protect your bearing from wear. Once completed, your bearing is now protected on the surface of your casting, giving it an extended life span.
Cleveland Rebabbitting Service has the equipment, people, experience, and expertise to deliver on time at a competitive cost.
